More About PIN and How to Request a new one

Recently, there is a lot of people in "Adsense Help Group" asking questions on when will they recieve PIN and stuff like that. Therefore, I would like to take thise opportunity to explain more on PIN.

The ultimate purpose for doing such PIN process is to enhance the security for money transaction. As quoted from Google, "A Personal Identification Number (PIN) is mailed to each AdSense publisher when earnings have reached $50 on their account. This PIN helps us to verify publisher addresses and protect the personal information of our publishers. If a PIN has been mailed to you, we will hold all payments until the PIN has been entered. However, your account will still be accessible and you will continue to be able to show ads and accrue earnings.
We will mail your PIN to the payment address in your account. You will then have 180 days to enter your PIN within your publisher account or to request a replacement. If you do not enter your PIN within this period, your account will be disabled and your earnings refunded to the appropriate advertisers."

I think you now must realize the purpose of having such PIN. What about the information on when they will arrive? From my experience and knowledge learnt from Adsense Help, it takes around 2-4 weeks to reach your mailing address, depends on your physcial location. If you live further away from Us, then it takes longer for the PIN letter to reach your home.

Just be patient, and wait for that 2-4 weeks period. If you still don't recieve that PIN letter, then you may need to reapply for a new one from Google. Follow the suggestion way of Google on how to apply for a new PIN:"If you haven't received your PIN, or if it has been lost, you're welcome to request up to two additional PINs. Note that you'll need to wait 3 weeks after your last PIN was mailed before requesting a new one.

To request a new PIN:
  • Log in to your AdSense account at https://www.google.com/adsense
  • Click the My Account tabContinue to the Payment History page
  • Click the Please enter your PIN link
  • Click Request a new PIN ...
Hope this post is useful to you.

Is it possible to receive the PIN code with DHL or any other courier service instead of normal mail?
I didn't receive my PIN with two attempts.

Hi dhvanesh,

Yes, you are right. You can only see the link when you earn more than $50 in your Adsense account.

Hi enam,

No, PIN will only be sent through normal mail. For other delivery methods like DHL, you may need to make a special requst to Google.

I got banned from adsense once.
I created a new account with different name, address etc.
After my new account was created,I changed my address to the old one(used for my 1st account).
After I reached $10 mark,I got email from Google that my PIN was sent at that old address on 25th Feb 2008.I have not yet got the PIN.
Should I request a new one?

Hi K5i-iitij,

Why did you revert back to the original address? You were giving clue to let Google know you were once banned.

Be patient that, you should request if the PIN still don't come at April.

Please subscribe my blog to get updated Adsense information.
