Make your Blog more User- and Search Engine-friendly

Below are the 15 tips and secrets that aims to make your omney-making blog more user-friendly. It is very important if you want to gain constant traffic to your site that can generate considerable amount of money from Adsense.

- Buy your own domain name. It is fa more easy to be memorized if you have your own domian name. It is quite cheap to buy a domain name with .org and .info. It just cost you about $3-4USD, and it last for a whole year! On avergage, it just costs you $0.25 month! Action now!

- Offer RSS and feed subscription buttons. Also ensure to place these buttons on highly visible area. It enable your reader to keep tight with your blog. I am sure you must know how to do it.

- Offer posts via email. There are some people who prefer email than RSS feed. Both Feedburner and Feedblitz offer this email service. I am also the subscriber of these two great company.

- Try to use a mild backgound and write for your readers comfort. This is the reason why I change the dark background to the new template. Help them have a wonderful reading experience. Use proper font, size, color and spacing. Check also the spelling, that will make you like a professional blogger.

- Have a better hosting who serve reasonable amount of time to load up a page. Gurantee on the up-time is also very important. Usual hosting company can gurantee up to 99.99% of that.

- Make your blog look outstandung. Try not to use the default template, especially those from blogger.com. Best, hire a designer to create a unique look for your blog. You can also used free templates but have it customize to create a unique look. As a cheap alternative, try to google the term "blogger template".


- Choose the right color scheme. While you can experiment with colors to find a good mix for your blog, keep in mind user experience and their expectations.

- Make RSS available. If your blogging solutions don't have RSS by default, have it added. Also ensure to place your RSS link on highly visible area. Go to http://feedvalidator.org to ensure your feed is working without any problem.

- Do not overload the widget. Don't sacrifice loading time for nice but not necessary widgets.

- Have a more descriptive and easy-to-memorize title of your post. Also, keep it short.

- Post consistently and regularly. This is the ultimate method to generate traffic to your site, indeed! Also, Googlebot and other blots are more likely to stop by on a more regular basis.

- Link up well to your post sources and to other complementary post. Use keywords or content phrases as your anchor text.

- Use a related posts plugin. Not only does this make sense to keep readers around for other articles on your site that are related to your current post, but it also allows you to deeplink from a current page on your blog to older entries.


- Manage well your trackback and comment spam. Don't wait for Google or Yahoo to find masses of spammy links on your blog.

- Use a good URL structure. Don't use "permalinks" such as www.yourblogsite.com/?p=123 . Instead, use www.yourblogsite.com/2007/01/01/blog_entry_title_here.

I know I asked this somewhere else but for the life of me I can't find where I posted it.

I figured out how to add adsense into my blog posts, but I'm wondering how you wrap the text around them. right now the text is just getting pushed below the adsense adds

Hi Dan,

You need to do one step more in your blogger account setting (in "post" tab). After doing that setting, the ads in your post will never push the body text to the bottom.
