How to Track Adsense Clicks

Many Gsense publishers always want to know how they can track the clicks on the Adsense ads. I once suggested them to use Adlogger, but since on Adlogger's homepage, it announces that this third-party software is no longer functional and accurate. Until Today, I have found one useful tool in seobook.com that enables us to track the Adsense clicks again. This tool is a free script that integrate with the Google Analytics, and to allow you to track your adsense clicks.

This tracking is done through "Goals". A goal is a way of tracking when a website visitor does something you want - Buy an item, submit a contact form, or in our case click an adsense ad. There is a idiot-prove setup procedures for you to follow.

Once you have Google Analytics tracking your clicks, you can cross segment that data to almost any other data Google Analytics shows. It becomes a very powerful way of optimising your site, not just for CTR, but for the type of visitors that click adsense.

Complete Blog Directories List

Yesterday, I wrote a post on getting back links to your site, and the use of Free Directory Submitter. However, that submitter only caters the web directories. But if you are using blogs, you may also submit your blogs to blog directories which are not included in the Directory Submitter list. Below are the list of blog directories where you can manually submit your blogs, and get further more back links and increase your ranking in Google, Yahoo, and MSN.

Getting Backlinks To Your Site

One of the important concepts in SEO is to get as many inbound (backlink) links to your site as possible. This is also called the Off-Page Optimization (You can also read here on my post on how to do the On-Page Optimization). Most often, the off-page optimization is the most difficult part to handle with, since it is difficult to ask someone to put a back link on a page that does not belong to yours.

One of the common way to get back links to your site is to submit your sites to various web directories (or blog directoies too if you are using blog). I too operate a web directory where it is FREE to get listed. With that said, many of these directories have both a high Page Rank AND are old websites, giving them more authority and power in the search engines.

Not only that, but there are literally thousands of website directories on the internet that are absolutely free for you to submit your website to! While it does take time to find these directories and then manually fill out all of the required criteria to submit your website, it is an excellent way to help increase your search engine rankings.

However, since this kind of submissions is done manually and one-by-one, it is very tiresome and time-consuming. There are some good website directory submission software products on the market. The best of which is a product called Directory Submitter created by Brad Callen. Esentially you simply enter your website details into the software program 1 time, and then click on any of the 1600+ website directories in the software and it wil automatically fill in all of the submission criteria for you. Click the submit button and then your site has been instantly added to the website directory.

So, not only does it save you time in finding all of these directories, BUT it saves you an incredible amount of time filling out each and every website's submission criteria. To learn more about Directory Submitter, visit the link below:

Page Translation Script

In order to cater for the need of the non-English visitors of your site and to widen your regular visitors base, it may be useful for you to install a page translation script. As you can see from the top of my blog, there is a bar of nation flags which shows the language available to be translated. These include French, Chinese, Spanish, Korean, Japanese etc.

If you also want to have one, the steps required is fairly easy. All you need to do is to copy and paste the translation javascript into your site/ blog's template, just like the one with Adsense code. You can find the script at:

Surge of Traffic in One Day

I use to have a sitemeter in all of my sites, in order to record all the daily traffic, and the source of traffic. To me, I even prefer sitemeter to Google Analytics since sitemeter can provide a real-time traffic log whereas Analytics cannot. I can also know, from the sitemeter, the details of each traffic to my site, including the IP address, the entry page, the exit page etc.

Alright, back to the original question. I have discussesed in my post about StumbleUpon previously. I am sure many of you know it is a social bookmarking system that, if you manage it properly, can bring a lot of traffic to your site (see my post on how to get the most from social bookmarking system). Today, when I logged in my sitemeter, I saw that there is a surge of traffic to my site within several hours. In hour 6, I even had 90 unique visitors coming to my site! That's nearly a half of the average traffic per day. So, that proves that Stumbleupon is a good traffic source and worth putting effort into it.

Adsense Arbitrage - Automation

As we saw in part II AdSense Arbitrage: Keyword Selection, finding the right set of circumstances where AdSense Arbitrage is going to work requires a bit of work. You' ve got to get a large enough set of related keywords, get some prices, and then compare and look for the right opportunity. If you read Rae' s blog then you might remember her post on Legitimate Use of Mechanical Grunts, which is a perfect for this situation. However after you get the keywords, and prices you' re still going to have to sift through all that data. I was talking with Scott (aka Web Professor) last week and he pointed me in the direction of Standard deviation.

Ok there is going to be a little math here, and it may look really scary and look like it's going to make your head hurt. Trust me it' s OK we can get through this really. I hate reading those long boring overly complicated search engine patents just as much as you do, so I'll keep things simple. The big formula is coming brace yourself …

Ok I promise I won't do that again. The formula comes from Wikipedia, but since most spammers aren't interested in this kind of stuff we're going to assume it's reasonably accurate. We're going to work with a sample of 4 bids for illustrative purposes, however I would suggest a I wider sample range once you actually get going.

Bid 1: $4.58
Bid 2: $4.53
Bid 3: $4.10
Bid 4: $4.05

We are going to get the mean of these numbers (add them together and divide them by 1 over amount of numbers)

(1/4) * ($4.58+$4.53+$4.10+$4.05)
(1/4) * (17.26)

we end up with 4.315

Explaning the next part in words is too complicated so I'll just show you the formula that funny thing is a square root

?[ (1/4) * [(4.58-4.315)2 + (4.53-4.315)2 + (4.10-4.315)2 + (4.05-4.315)2]]

Inside of each of the parentheses we subtracted the mean from each of the individual numbers and squared the result.

?[ (1/4) * [(0.265)2 + (0.215)2 + (-0.215)2 + (-0.265)2]]

?[ (1/4) * [(0.070225) + (0.046225) + (0.046225) + (0.070225)]]

?[ (1/4) * [0.2329]]

?[ 0.058225 ]

The end result is 0.241 (rounded to three significant digits). OK great your head hurts and 37 people how now unsubscribed from my blog because they had high school math flashbacks, but what the heck to you do with that number? Well the lower that number is the worse the situation actually is, here an example of four other bid prices for an actual keyword:

Bid 1: $16.99
Bid 2: $16.98
Bid 3: $12.00
Bid 4: $10.00

You can see the bid gap is larger by looking at it, but remember were trying do this without having to look at the numbers. I'll save you the trouble and tell you result is 3.065. So a higher standard deviation will clue you in to a possibly favorable condition. Now I'm not going to recommend you turn your scraper on full tilt and let it make your decisions, what I am saying is get a scraper/number-cruncher to help you identify the best possible candidates. Let the machine do the grunt work, save you time and energy, and you do the thinking and decide if it's worth pursuing or not. It's not rocket science, but with a little programming, a little math, and a little creativity you may find a new way to build your income.

Adsense Arbitrage - Selection of Keywords

In part I Performing AdSense Arbitrage, we went over the basics of how AdSense arbitrage works. In this part we're going to roll up our sleeves and look at some actual keywords and see if we can find some areas where we might like to try some arbitrage.

While high paying keyword lists may be somewhat useful it's important to understand how those lists are generated and some of their limitations (see Contextual Advertising with AdSense High-Paying Keywords, Part 2 (series) for a more in depth discussion). I like to start with the Overture bid tool, and if things look OK then go into Google Adwords tool. It's been my experience that with the AdWords keyword tool there is quite often a substantial difference between what they estimate I will pay and what I actually end up paying for a keyword. Now this could have something to do with the "quality score" variable Google doesn't share with you, or any number of other factors, but I don't put too much faith in the Google estimated prices I use them more as a reality check for what I see from Overture. Let's look at the keyword [mortgage].

Now depending on how close the time you are viewing this page to the time it was written there may be some variation in prices. At the time of writing the top 10 bids were ($4.58, $4.53, $4.10, $4.05, $4.05, $4.05, $4.04, $4.02, $4.01, $4.00) so there’s not a big bid gap there at all. Using Google we see the prices are estimated at $3.67 per click (I think you’d actually end up paying closer to the Overture price when all is said and done)

To get your pricing down to $2.00 or less you are going be bidder #31. According to the Overture keyword tool there are over 1 million searches for the term [mortgage] per month. So you may actually get some click throughs at spot #31 but I don’t think you are going to get too many, so you may make money just very little very slowly. What we really need is a way to get higher priced keywords. Lets look at prices for [new york mortgage]:

OK these prices are much better ($7.95, $7.91, $6.25 etc), however there still isn't a bid gap. What we really need is a way to get the [new york mortgage] ads to appear and pay the [mortgage] prices and still be contextually relevant enough that the advertisements will get clicked on. Can you think of a way? Remember in part I that I said knowing how the system works can be to your advantage? Here's one solution, select the word mortgage in your advertising, but only target customers from New York. Write your ad so it's more appealing for people in New York, then on your landing page write about mortgages for New York. It doesn't always work but you can use section targeting to help.

While I'm sure some of you feel I "tricked" the system I disagree, I just used the way the system worked to my advantage. I also don't feel the advertiser buying [new york mortgage] got the wrong customer, so nobody got "cheated". This is just one way to use the system to make a profit, there are many more if you're willing to spend some time and be a little creative. What you want to do take advantage of inefficiencies that exist, they could be gaps that exist in the market or just using poor searching habits to your advantage. The takeaway here is try to find a way to better pre-qualify the customer for the advertiser, that way you've added value somewhere along the way.

How to Perform Adsense Arbitrage -1

If you frequent any of the AdSense forums chances are you've come across the phrase "AdSense Arbitrage", while it's been around for a while a lot of people don’t understand what it is, or how it works. While I'm not a big player in the arbitrage model I've been doing it profitably for a few months, so I can explain how I do it and share a few tips I've picked up. In part II AdSense Arbitrage: Keyword Selection I'll take you through some real keyword options, and in part III AdSense Arbitrage: Automation and Button Pushing I'll go over some ideas for automating the process I learned recently.

To start let's take a high level view of what AdSense arbitrage is and how it works. The basic principle is to pay for a low price for keyword in an advertising program like AdWords, Overture Yahoo Search Marketing, or MSN AdCenter and direct users to a page with AdSense or another contextual advertising program on it that has higher payout. You can either bid low on the same term, looking for keywords with a large bid gap (more on that later) or you can bid on very specific keywords with little competiton and drive them to page with ads for a more general and competitive term.

Sounds pretty simple you bid $1 for a keyword, direct the traffic to a landing page with ads that pay $2 sit back and watch the profits roll in right? Well there's a little more to it than that, it's not rocket science but the more familiar you are with how both Adwords and AdSense works the more likely you are to succeed. Up until fairly recently most publishers were getting a 60% cut of the adwords price, $0.03 on a $0.05 bid. However now that AdSense has factored in smart pricing it's a little more complicated. Here is my post on Smart Pricing System of Google Adsense.

The role smart pricing plays in your account varies from one account to the next and is an unknow variable. To keep the math here simple I'm not going to include it, but it is something you should factor into your computations. To keep things simple lets assume you are bidding $1.00 for a keyword. Again to keep things simple lets assume the advertiser is paying $2.00 a keyword, so you'll get $1.20 a click ($2.00 x 0.6). So you pay $1.00 a click but get $1.20 a click so you make $0.20 every click, not a lot but you’re not really doing any work after you get it running so you’ll make money slowly. The problem is you aren't going to get a 100% click through rate on your AdSense ads. Lets run some numbers using 100 users coming to your page

So what did our little experiment tell us, unless we have a 90% CTR we are going to lose money. While I’m not going to say you can’t achieve a 90% ctr, I am going to say if you did it would be pretty phenomenal. Let’s take a much more realistic CTR of say 30%. If you were able to get the cost down so you were paying $0.25 per click you would be in much better shape

100 leads @ $0.25 = $25
30 clicks at $1.2 = $36
$11 profit

$11 Profit per day isn’t a lot, in fact it’s probably going to cover lunch at the diner and not much else. So you’re going to have to find something with a lot of volume per day or look for a wider bid gap. A bid gap is what occurs when there is a large gap in bid prices for a particular keyword for example:

Bidder 1 - $10.00
Bidder 2 - $9.75
Bidder 3 - $7.00
Bidder 4 - $3.00
Bidder 5 - $1.25

There $4.00 difference between bidder 3 and 4 is a sizeable bid gap, and these are the opportunities you are looking for when you play the arbitrage game. Adwords isn’t much help in revealing bid in fact the best you can get is a kinda close guestimate, using the Overture Bid tool you can get much more accurate bid prices. Let’s assume you are going to bid 1 penny more than bidder number 5 so it will cost you $1.26 for each bid. The top bid is $10.00 so you will get $6.00 per click, so lets run some number again

100 leads @ $1.26 = $126
30 clicks @ $6.00 = $180
$54 dollars profit

Ok $54 dollars is more like it, now you can take your significant other out to dinner. But let’s slow down let’s say you are running a popular sized adsense block, good old 300 x 250. Well that size block displays up to 4 ads. If the user clicks on advertisement #3 forget going out to eat it’s left over mac and cheese for you. If they click on advertisement #4 you’ve lost money, so you better call up mom and see if you can come over for dinner.

The point to here is it may not always be in your best interest to display as many ads as possible, in many cases you can actually make more money by showing less ads, imagine that! You may even want to use single ads like 125 x 125, 180 x 180, 234 x 60 or the double 468 x 60, and 120 x 240. In addition you want to make sure you have the ads in prominant clickable spots (see my post on how to maximize clicks through ad placement). You may also find you have a lot more success using a landing page with no external navigation. By eliminating options the only choices are clicking the advertisements or using the back button. This means your content is going to have to “add value” along the way just be careful how you add value. Lastly if you use multiple ad blocks give each of them their own channel. If one block consistantly gets a higher CTR, have it appear first in the code so it gets the highest priced ad. Position it where ever you want using CSS. Also remember many publishers bid lower prices for contextual ads than search ads, so this could affect your ability to turn a profit, just again another factor to be aware of.

There are some other points to remember as well like cash management. Let’s say you spend $1000 on Adwords, and get $2000 from AdSense, $1000 profit so what’s the problem? You won’t be getting your AdSense check until the end of the month, and chances are your credit card bill will come before your AdSense check arrives, so make sure you can cover the expense. Letting your bill run up and giving the credit card company 18%-22% of your profit just isn’t cool. If you can’t float the money find a 0% interest credit card.

Getting your first campaign up, running and making a profit is definitely the hardest part. You probably are going to have to micromanage it for a week or two. You may even ask yourself is this worth the time? Well remember you’re just on the learning curve, once you’ve learned how to do it for one the second one is easier, the third even easier and by the fourth one hopefully you’ve found your groove. AdSense arbitrage isn’t rocket science but you do have to be on the ball, and it’s not for the faint of heart.

Beholding Your SiteSearch

If you are familiarize with Adsense for Search, I believe you should know there are two kinds of search boxes. One of them is Sitesearch which provides an opportunity for visitors to search either though World Wide Web (www) or your site. You should also know that, by default, the radio button has been selected for websearch. How can we change the radio button to our SiteSearch by default? There is a little trick out there.

It's a little-known fact, but we're happy to tell you that it is possible to select this option within your account. First, visit the AdSense Setup tab after logging into your Adsense account. Then, select "AdSense for search" as your product. On the code generation page, you should see a sample search box under "Search box style" that changes as you customize the layout:

If you' d like your search box to default to SiteSearch, simply click the radio button for SiteSearch within the sample. Once you have finished customizing your search box, copy and paste the provided code onto your pages – and voila, you will see that SiteSearch is selected as the default for your search box, which is illustrated as below:

What is Private Label Rights Article

Private label rights (PLR) articles are a very useful way to add search engine friendly content to your website. If you are familiar with Adsense, you must know that the content is very important in driving traffic to your site. I have written several post on how to obtain high-quality content for your blogs. PLR articles could be a good choice too. If you are building a large Google AdSense web site to make some money, then you need many articles that are search engine optimized with keywords. It could be quite boring for those who want to earn quick bucks from Google Adsense to write these articles themselves. In addition, the more articles you have that are optimized, the better results you will have from your AdSense web site.

One of the way is to hire and employ some freelance writers to write unique articles for you. It normally cost you $5 per post. eLance is the website that enable you to hire writers that write specifically in the topic you wanted. That could still take you some time and must spend you quite a lot of money if you want to have a huge informative site. Is there another practical way to obtain quality content to attract visitors?

Yes, in fact, there are many websites that provide well-written articles that have been properly researched and are sold as private label rights articles. These websites are membership sites and can enable you to obtain hundreds of PLR articles for a very reasonable price—in some cases as low as 15 cents each. In my opinion, it is a better option than getting ‘free’ articles, which are likely posted on thousands of web sites across the Internet, and are not unique to your AdSense web site at all. This is pretty obvious in some spammers' sites that have been promoted in Adsense Help Group repeatedly.

If obtaining PLR articles is the way you want to go, one of the keys to using this content is to rewrite them. In the long run, this is going to afford you the best results. You will want to fine-tune the articles with keywords to do SEO and get a better ranking in different search engines. PLR articles are not written with keyword density in mind, but it is easy enough to change them to be SEO keyword optimized.

By rewriting the articles, it will mean that the articles are now exceptionally unique to your AdSense sites. You can add the keywords that you want to concentrate on and give it your personality and even change the tone of the article. You can also take a simple approach and leave the article intact, writing only an introduction and conclusion—but this does not give you keyword savvy, quality or unique articles for your Google AdSense web site. You can also use RSS feeds to add content to your content pages, but again, this does not afford you unique or quality SEO articles. The more unique and keyword savvy your web site articles are—the better results you will have long term.

It sounds like a lot of work to rewrite an article, but it is much easier to rework an already produced article than it is to write one from scratch. You can rewrite some, or the entire article, simply using it as inspiration for your own unique article.

Whichever method you choose to create content for your AdSense web site using PLR articles, you will likely be quite pleased with the outcome. There are many PLR article membership web sites, and many of the best ones are sold out, but you can put your name down on a waiting list. There are a variety of web sites which are still taking members—search for this service today and you will be well on your way to increasing your Google AdSense in no time.

Adsense Alternative 9 - Chitika

Chitika eMiniMalls offers another alternative to Google’s Adsense for contextual Pay-Per-Click advertising. By inserting their provided Javascript code, similar to how AdSense works, a contextual advertisement will be generated as can be seen below in this post. Chitika offers all of the similar customizations that AdSense does, allowing you to customize ad size, colours, and even allows you to turn the contextual engine off so that it may run alongside AdSense.

Chitika provides bloggers the opportunity to harness their independent original content and opinions to monetize the traffic to their site. Offers retailers a new channel to merchandise their products, and gives consumers better access to a broader base of independent expert advice from the blogger community.

Founded in 2003, Chitika has built a network of more than 12,000 participating blogs and websites, and is adding new members daily. Chitika is the only blogger-driven merchandising/shopping network connecting online consumers directly with the products that are relevant to them. Our network includes more than 12,000 participating blogs that connect these online experts with retailers and consumers.

In fact, Chitika has five different products for bloggers to monetize their sites. These include eMiniMalls, RPU, ShopLinc and Owna etc. Among them, eMiniMalls, claimed to be the flagship product, is probably the most popular. How to Make a Three-Column Blogger Template

In the recent comments, many people are curious in how to make a three-column blogger. I admit that three-columns blog is more blogger friendly that two-columns blog, since it is much more spacious and you can put more materials you want into it. There are many free and ready-to-use three columns blog available in the internet, and you can easily find the one that best suit you. However, what about if you want to turn your existing blog into a three-column one? Is it possible?

No worry, it is not too difficult. Switching the default two-column layout to three requires a few modifications to your template. Here's how to proceed:

1. As with other modifications, you should first back up your current template into somewhere else , just in case anything goes wrong. I usually just copy it to a MS Word document on my desktop. (Open the Template tab, click inside the template area, press Control+A to select the entire document, and Control+C to copy; then switch to Notepad, press Control+V to paste the document, and Save.)

2. Go back to your Blogger template and scroll to the embedded stylesheet at the top. Add a new style to format the left-hand column. The template should look like this:

#SidebarLeft {
position:relative;
width: 20%;
padding-right:.5%;
float:left;
margin-left:.5%;
clear: none;
text-align: left;
}

3. Locate the HTML part of the document. To create a left-hand column, as in this blog, open the SidebarLeft div (type ) immediately after the tag. Put a closing before the Main div. This partitions off the left 20% of the screen for a sidebar — now you can put any content you like between this pair of divs. In this blog, I have placed the Archives on the left, along with categories, popular posts, and RSS feed icons. (Note: If you are using another template, the style names may differ, but the same principles apply.)

4. Return to the top of the template and tweak the other main content styles to accommodate the new design element. This time, you'll need to make the central text area narrower and set its left and right margins to auto. You may also need to reduce the width of the existing right-hand column. Experiment with width, padding, and borders of the styles until you have a design that works. Here are the settings recommended:

#content {
width:78%;
margin-top:15px;
margin-left: auto !important;
margin-right: auto !important;
padding:0;
text-align:left;
}
#main {
width:53.5%;
float:left;
padding-left:1.5%;
padding-right:1%;
border-left:1px dashed #ccc;
border-right:1px dashed #ccc;
}
#sidebar {
width:19.5%;
float:right;
margin-right:.5%;
padding-left:.5%;
}

5. Optional: There may be other styles based on the original Sidebar style that format elements within a column. In Doug Bowman's Minima template, for example, the #Sidebar style is specified with three contextual selectors (ul, li, and p). These control the formatting of bullets and paragraphs in the sidebars. If you want similar formatting for the other side of the screen, locate and clone these styles under the #SidebarLeft designation, as follows:

#SidebarLeft ul {
margin:0 0 1.5em;
padding:0 0 1.5em;
border-bottom:1px dashed #ccc;
list-style:none;
}
#SidebarLeft li {
margin:0;
padding:0 0 .25em 15px;
text-indent:-15px;
line-height:1.5em;
}
#SidebarLeft p {
color:#666;
line-height:1.5em;
}

6. Save your template changes and preview your blog. If you're satisfied, re-publish and share your handiwork with the world!

This is the procedures you need to make your three column blogger template. However, to me, I always think it would be better if you choose a ready-to-use template in the web. They should be in good quality and easier to use.

Yahoo: 241
Altavista: 1780

Your site is valued at: $5,063
Monthly Earning Potential
1. Text Link Advertising
Your site could sell text link advertisements at a rate of approximately $8/Link/Month.If you sell eight links, you could earn approximately $68/Month selling text links on your site.Check here for a review of Text Link Ads, currently the best way to sell text links from your website.

Affiliate Marketing
Your site could earn approximately $71/Month through affiliate marketing. Check here for a guide to starting to work with affiliate programs, including what they are, and how to insert advertisements into your own site.

Independent Advertising

Your site could earn approximately $0/Month through independent advertising arrangements specific to your site's niche. Take a look around to see if there are any companies which could benefit from advertising on your website. For example, if you run a website about golf in Tampa, Florida, perhaps it would be a good idea to call a few of the local courses and see if they would like to purchase advertising, or a review on your site.

Cheque from Bidvertiser! A Comprehensive Review of Bidvertiser

Remember I have just finished the viability test on Bidvertiser at the end of June? Many people at that time were curious why I am displaying Bidvertiser ads. Am I being banned by Google. And I have answered them in my previous post. The overall performance of Bidvertiser is not that good, as compared with Google Adsense. Google Adsense has several distinct features and advantages over the rest of PPC networks. First, Google is a well-known company that everyone knows about it. Its service is trust-worthy and must be not be a scam. Also, it has the top search engine that everyone is relying on and the scope of displaying ads is muh wider, even wider than its rival - Yahoo!. Because of these factors and advantages, advertisers are keen to pay and display ads in Google network. This makes the database of advertisers in Google to become so big that Google can still display highly relevant ads to your niche site.

On the other hand, as from what I can see in Bidvertiser, the advertisers database is much smaller, and some of the ads not totally not relevant. For exmaple, my blog is talking about Google Adsense and other PPC programs. But Bidvertiser may deliver ads about "Free Wii, PSP", "24 hours Forex", "Online shopping" etc. These ads are not related to the topic of my blog, and will easily erode my CTR. Luckily, there is an unique feature on Bidvertiser that you can select what ads to be displayed. I can approve and reject every ads pending, and approximately nearly 10 new ads were pending for my approval to display.

For the earning per click, I must admit that it is lower than that in Adsense. On average, each click woths about USD$0.1 in Bidvertiser, while it worths about $0.2-0.3 in Google Adsense. That is the reason why I could not earn as much as Adsense. Fortunately, Bidvertiser referral program supplement me on this. Under my referral, there are approximately around 100 Bidvertiser advertisers and publishers referred. And I also earn quite a lot from them. You can check their referral payment structure from my previous post.

Anyway, I got a $60 dollars check from Bidvertiser for the month of May. There will be a check sending in progress for June. In conclusion, Bidvertiser is quite satisfactory, especially when compared to other PPC networks like Oxado and Kontera. Below are the pictures of my check.

Most Expensive Domain Name

Thanks to Ric in Adsense Help Group. He shared one articles named "Most Expensive Domain Name". It reveals that domain name can also be a big business. If you have a website that have a good domain or easy-to-memorize domain name, your site can be sold for a higher price. Anyway, let's check it out:

Business.com which was resold in 1999 for $7.5 million, according to Guinness World Records, appears to have been surpassed as the most expensive domain name, and not by theRecordBreakingDomain.com which was attempting to become the most expensive domain name in a media-move by selling for $7,500,001.

On January 19, 2006, it was reported that the domain Sex.com sold for $14 million US dollars to Boston-based Escom LLC, making it the most expensive domain sold. Former Sex.com owner Gary Kremen, reportedly wants to get out of the adult entertainment business. Other sources are quoted as saying the price Sex.com sold for was $11.4-12 million US dollars according to Reuters and AZOnline.

While the current market for internet domains is nowhere as solid as it was during the dot-com peak, the market remains strong and is experiencing solid growth. Each year tens of millions of dollars are exchanged during the resale of domains. In September of 2005, the gambling company Leisure & Gaming has paid $1.4 million for the vip.com domain. This is the most expensive domain name sale publicly reported during 2005.

The most expensive domain sale in 2004 was for creditcards.com.

A small Austin marketing firm has paid $2.75 million for CreditCards.com. Despite the rocky history of high-priced domain sales, participants say it was a fair price, and the sale may signal a new gold rush for Internet address speculators.

“It' s like prime real estate, there’s only so much of this real estate to go around. I feel like we bought a slice of Park Avenue,” said ClickSuccess CEO Dan Smith. The sale was actually completed in March [2004]. src
